Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. Her family was raised as part of an multiethnic family. Jacqueline's parents are Malaysian as well as the Sri Lankan. Her father Elroy Fernandez hails from Sri Lanka. There are two older brothers and two younger brothers. She was raised and born in Bahrain. The family of her parents moved there in the 1980s because of civil unrest within Sri Lanka. In 2006, she was crowned the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006. She also participated in Miss Universe 2006. Her first appearance on television was after she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Her program, Lanka Business Report, covers Sri Lankan business. Padukone (the child of the badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. As a teenager she competed at the national badminton tournaments levels. She later quit the sport to pursue a career as fashion designer. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. The model is Mangalorean by origin. Her ancestors come from the town of Padukone in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state in India. Prakash Padukone is her father and a former badminton star of international fame. Her mother is a travel agent.
